The uOttawa chapter strives to bring our student community together in hopes of creating a tangible impact across the greater Ottawa area. As we continue to build and strengthen our relationships in Ottawa, our chapter has put forth four initiatives and seven partnerships. Where I Thrive, a local spin studio, allowed us to “Power the Promise" through our Spin it Forward event, providing a “pay what you can” spin class for our participants. “Pilates in Bloom”, In collaboration with uOttawa Pilates, allowed us to raise funds for our annual bag drive while also raising awareness within the uOttawa community about the experiences of youth facing homelessness. We partnered with Long Shots Sports Cafe to host a weekly charity trivia night with proceeds donated directly to our mission. This initiative helped us spread our mission outside the circle of university communities. Finally, we hosted a fundraiser with Chipotle Rideau where 25% of proceeds using our code went toward our cause! Each initiative allowed participants the opportunity to help us make a direct impact on underprivileged youth while also providing us a platform to educate and inspire others to help those in need. Our on-campus advocacy was largely focused on expanding our social media presence, allowing us to reach a larger audience of our peers and recruit support within our community. These initiatives culminated in our April 2026 bag drive where we were able to donate 40 backpacks filled with essentials to Operation Come Home.
